Wi Fi

It took us about 2 hours to drive up the mountain yesterday. The drive mostly consisted of windy roads, occasional traffic jams, nonstop conversations about nothing, epic views, and frequent text messages with other family members headed up to the cabin in separate cars. “Where are you guys?” “Are you getting close?” “Can’t wait to see you guys!!!” “I got some gas ass weed.” “Hurry up and park bitch! I missed yo ass!!!” We couldn’t wait to meet in the village. We stopped at Maggio’s to eat. If you ever go to Big Bear please stop in and grab yourself some Italian food, it really is a highlight of these annual excursions to the rim of the world, as the area is affectionately called. When we counted, we realized that 22 of us are here. A mix of cousins, kids, aunties, friends, and family members. Some of us hadn’t seen each other in years. We finally got to the cabin, after buying all the Tito’s and Veuve Clicquot that Von’s had to offer, we can’t all survive up here on mom’s stockpile of Hennessy, and we put our shit in our rooms. I noticed that very few people made it past the main floor. After stopping to make drinks and roll backwoods, everyone headed to the deck, fired up, and almost immediately started asking, “Aye…what’s the Wi Fi password?” The cabin we are staying in has 5 levels. There are 2 fire pits, a jacuzzi, a pool table, air hockey, a video game room, 360 degree views of the lake, hiking trails, a theater, three kitchens, and family. We have enough food, drugs, and alcohol here to sustain a small army for a month but all hell almost broke loose yesterday when we could not get onto the Wi Fi.
